National Night Out With The PGC

National Night Out, the most recent gathering of PGC neighbors on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, was a fun, if rainy, success! Out of 118 households contacted via Evite invitation, almost 60 neighbors responded, with most of these invitees and their guests showing up between 6 and 8 p.m. at the cordoned-off passthrough street between E and W Parkwood Roads south of Parkwood Park, our community’s park property.

Many long-time residents who’ve been here for a while reconnected with, and even met for the first time, some of their neighbors from the five streets that make up our neighborhood: East and West Parkwood Roads, Parkwood Lane, Upland Road, and Wimberly Court. A few brand new neighbors showed up to introduce themselves and partake of the snacks, beer, and wine provided by the Club.

Thanks to neighbor Katie Black for sending out invitations, planning, and hosting this summer’s event, and thanks to the members of the Parkwood Garden Club for their past membership dues, which funded this community gathering. If you didn’t get to make it to this one, please check back here on the PGC website, and keep your eyes on your email inboxes for future invitations to this fall 2010’s upcoming events. We’ll hope to see you all there!
