Chihuahua reunited with owner thanks to PGC and East Lake websites

UPDATE (July 22, 2011):  Yesterday, July 21 at 10:12 a.m. I got a call from the Chihuahua’s owner (see below). She’d been walking around Parkwood looking for her lost Chihuahua, MiMi, when an unknown PGC neighbor told her to contact me or Bolot. She called Bolot, he told her to call me, she did, and I told her about the original East Lake posting. It was her dog. Yay! So thanks to the East Lake Webmasters Bob and Brian for keeping on top of these lost pet reports, thanks to all of US for subscribing to East Lake and own own PGC website, and thanks to that unknown PGC neighbor who told MiMi’s owner to talk to me. Talk about teamwork! Among all of us, we could start a pet detective business. I always wanted a good excuse to dress like Ace Ventura.

The moral of the story is: neighbors, please notify me if you lose or find a pet, asap. Please tell people looking for lost pets to contact us or the East Lake Webmasters. Those guys seem to know everything. And please tell your unsubscribed neighbor friends to subscribe to this website!

From the Eastlake Road Neighborhood website:

She is a light brown Chihuahua around 8 to 10 lbs with a darker muzzle and white on her chest. She has a pink collar and spikes on it but no tags. She was found at the corner of Paden Circle and East Lake Road. You can call 404-343-3151 or 404-409-8214. She is a sweet but scared dog that has been well cared for and would really like to find her lost owners.

Found Cat Needs a Forever Home or Foster Home

In recent days a very pretty tabby cat with green eyes has taken up residence in the yard of PGC member Mary Leslie. Mary is allergic to cats and unfortunately can’t keep her. She was obviously a pet at one time, but stays on Mary’s back patio most of the time now. Mary has posted notices but nobody has come forward to claim the cat. The kitty’s a little skittish, understandably, and very skinny. The cat doesn’t appear to be very old, and she’s in dire need of several good meals and a loving home.

If you or someone you know can do the good deed of adopting this cat, or at least of visiting it to see if you would be interested in fostering it, please contact Katie Black. Here’s a photo of the kitty:

Don't you want this sweet kitty?

Please contact neighbor Ginger Gidden-Weinzierl immediately at 404-290-9795 if you find or have found a little white West Highland Terrier since Sunday afternoon, March 20, 2011. His name is Oliver, he’s very friendly, and he’s not wearing a collar but IS microchipped. He escaped from his backyard late afternoon on Sunday. His parents are very concerned. Please keep a lookout for this dog:

Please contact pgc.webmasters@gmail.com if you or a neighbor:
1) finds Oliver and can’t contact the owner, or

Lost Cat

On December 12, 2010 this flyer was spotted on our neighborhood’s telephone poles:

In case the image isn’t loading for you, the flyer reads:

“Lost: Large Orange Cat.  Has large eyes and loves bananas, his name is Sid and he does not have a collar on.  Please call if you have seen him.  Thank you.  678-613-9525.”  Sid went missing from a home on East Lake Dr. near the Eastlake MARTA on December 8, 2010.  He’s a 2 year old orange tabby w/ white chest; here’s a photo:
