Safer Crossing Yard Signs

Safer Crossing, the neighborhood group pushing for train quiet zones at Dekalb Ave., East Lake Rd., and Coventry Rd., will place an order with the sign maker for new yard signs by Friday, October 19.

The double-sided signs cost about $12 each. If you weren’t at the Safer Crossing meeting at Epiphany last night, where sign orders were taken, but would like to be in on this week’s order, please write, call, or text Bob Ballou (rcballou@bellsouth.net404.514.3884) . The signs should be ready early next week.

Thanks Bob!

The SIGN is UP!

Notice the beautiful new sign installed at the W.Ponce end of Parkwood Park!

A big thank you to Rebecca Byrd for financing the sign, Ben and Joe Dicks for designing the sign, and Steve Elmore for overseeing the manufacture and installation of the sign.

There will be an official unveiling of the sign during the park workday at 12 noon, Oct. 20.

Parkwood History

Last year, David Rotenstein spent some time researching the history the Parkwood neighborhood.  A year after his online post, one of the original Parkwood residents found David and shared some of her stories and pictures.
